Questflow vs Codex

Short answer: Codex is OpenAI's AI coding agent — it reads a repo, writes code, runs tools, and ships. Questflow is an AI Finance Agent — it reads markets and portfolios, applies fund manager judgment, and executes capital inside your rules. They are siblings, not competitors. Questflow is what Codex looks like when the object is money instead of code.

Why we keep saying "Codex for finance"

The 2025–26 coding-agent explosion had three enablers: huge context, tool use, and multi-hour coherent work. Trading is getting the same stack. A chatbot that picks a ticker is Copilot 1.0. An agent that keeps thesis, monitors invalidation, and executes with hooks is the Codex moment.

Questflow's mapping is deliberate:

  • Signal → Thesis → Execution = Explore → Plan → Implement

  • Pre-trade hooks = don't run dangerous commands

  • Post-trade review = verification, the highest-leverage pattern in both worlds

They do not replace each other

Use Codex to build products. Use Questflow to allocate to Funds managed by AI Agents distilled from investors. If you try to make Codex trade for you, you still have no judgment source, no venue permissions model, and no performance ledger.
